If you run a daycare, I am sure you are well aware that things can get stressful. Nap time (or quiet time) is something that you might look forward to. If you are one of those care providers who feels like they need to keep working during this time, you should consider just relaxing once in a while!
When you take care of yourself it is easier to take care of others. You could read a book, watch a show/movie, do yoga, meditate, have some chocolate etc. You don't have to spend the whole time relaxing if you really need to get some work done though. Try to work in 15 minutes of "me time" if you can. If you are like me and love drinking tea, you could make yourself some during this time. My favorite relaxing tea is Honey Vanilla Chamomile from Celestial Seasonings (see here: http://shop.celestialseasonings.com/Honey-Vanilla-Chamomile/p/CEL-053078&c=CelestialSeasonings@Herbal). Their Tension Tamer tea is also an excellent one (see here: http://shop.celestialseasonings.com/Tension-Tamer-Herbal-Tea/p/CEL-053344&c=CelestialSeasonings@Herbal). Being a care provider is hard work work and leads to burn-out in a lot of people. Just be good to yourself and know that you are amazing for all that you do for others!

I came across these zucchini pizza bites from Sprouted Wild Ones. My goodness they are yummy! These are something that you should really try making for your kids and yourself. They are good with or without marinara sauce to dip them in.
I have been on a zucchini kick lately and I just had to try these. Mine are imperfect looking but no one cared. They were gobbled up in a very short amount of time! I have a degree in Family Life and Child Development and worked in various childcare settings. Because of this, I was able to come up with my own curriculum. They will help your children be ready for kindergarten and beyond.
The themes are either weekly or just one per month. Just let me know what you prefer! When I was doing daycare in my home I first started out doing one theme per month. What I found was that the kids would sometimes be "over" the month long themes. So in some cases different weekly themes can capture their attention and interest more. All of the themes pretty much go with the seasons. There are some (like "post office") that I believe can go with any season. I do have summer curriculum kits planned but I know that some providers do not do curriculum during that season. If you would like to see any of the themes I created for the summer and want to do them during your school year, please don't hesitate to contact me! Hello everyone!
Putting together this store has been a dream of mine. I was a home daycare provider and I loved coming up with curriculum and themes for the kids. Being able to help other care providers transform their preschool/daycare environments into really fun places would be an awesome feeling for me. The monthly curriculum kits can include either weekly themes or just one theme. Make sure to let me know your choice! I will have pictures up soon that shows examples of the things I have and am in the process of creating for you. Thanks for visiting and stay tuned! |
